This soccer drill is a great drill that you can do to work on your ball control, turns, and also foot conditioning. It teaches you to take very precise touches on the ball, and is also an excellent dribbling drill for teaching you to stay light on your feet.

To do this drill, all you need is a ball. Take two sideways touches with the outside of your right foot. With your third touch, stop the ball with the inside of your right foot. As a part of this motion, not only do you stop the ball, you also land your weight on your right foot. Switch directions and take the ball in the other direction with the outside of your left foot for two touches. Stop the ball with the inside of your left foot. Continue alternating in this pattern.

One of the things this drill teaches you is the value of positioning your feet properly when you dribble and staying light on your feet. This is very useful when you’re dribbling during the game because this makes it much easier for you to evade defenders when you dribble. In addition, it teaches you to get your outside foot planted on the ground when you come around the ball to the outside. When this foot gets planted, you can push off of it when you change directions, giving you a lot more explosive power.
