A lot of the time, it’s difficult to work on your soccer training if you go on vacation. Usually, you go to places without teams to play with, soccer fields to practice on, or soccer gear to use.
However, with the proper drills and exercises, it’s very possible for you to keep up your skills while on vacation. This video contains 5 exercises and soccer drills that you can do while on vacation with only yourself and a ball.
1. Fitness Run
If you’re not careful, a long vacation can lead to a reduction in your fitness level. However, the great thing about vacation is a lot of time you go to interesting places. You can explore these places while working on your fitness by going on a fitness run. Set a certain amount of time and just run for that amount of time.
2. Ball Control – Juggling
Juggling is a great drill for you to do on vacation because it can be done any time, anywhere. You don’t need grass, a goal, cones, or anything else. All you need is a ball and yourself. You may want to make sure to pack some soccer shoes, because they will make this exercise a little easier.
3a. and 3b. Ball Control Drill – Push Pulls – Instep and Inside
Push Pulls is a great soccer drill for vacation because it requires very little space. You don’t need to go looking for a soccer field. All you need for this drill is a patch of grass and a ball. Mix it up by practicing pushing the ball with both the inside of your foot and the instep (top) of your foot.
4. Leg Strength and Ball Control – Toe Taps
The great thing about toe taps is that it’s a soccer drill that develops not only your ball control, but also your leg strength. Constantly jumping back and forth between legs, coupled with having to control how hard you touch the ball is a great leg workout.
5. Ball Control – Tick Tocks
One of the things that most great dribblers can do is move the ball quickly back and forth between one foot in the other. This is especially vital when doing moves like “La Croqueta.” Tick Tocks is a great soccer drill that helps you work on this ability, as well as helping you develop controlled touches on the ball.
