One of the skills that you should develop to take your soccer game to the next level is the ability to curve both your shots and your passes. This makes your shots and passes harder to defend, and also allows you to put the ball in places where you might not otherwise be able to.
This video shows how to take a curving shot on goal. Curving shots on goal are difficult to anticipate for goalkeepers, so they are a good option to have in your arsenal.
Let’s start off with where you strike the soccer ball. If you’re looking to hit a low, curving shot, try to hit the ball in the middle, not on the bottom, because hitting the ball on the bottom will drive it up in the air.
Hit the ball with the inside of your foot, angling your foot to about a 35-45 degree angle.
Drive your foot straight through the ball, and as you hit the ball, rotate your foot so your toe is facing forward.
This will cause the ball to spin after you hit it. The spin you put on the ball is what causes the ball to curve, so the harder the ball spins, the more it curves.
Follow through with your foot as you strike the ball to increase how much the ball spins.
